I liked this enough to try out the next one or two in the series, but I had trouble following it at times- there are abrupt scene changes, other transitions and happenings that go mostly unremarked that I sometimes missed- in one Simon is lost at sea (?) in one paragraph and rescued at the next.

Phantasm 1979 - written and directed by Don Coscarelli

They could have improved it with dramatic lighting and shadows to hide the quality of the costume, and given her a less contemporary hair style- but still it is fantastic as is.

I needed only about five gray bricks and tiles and a hinge piece from my inventory to complete the main house structure. Some of the boarded up windows printed tiles are missing... but yeah very much worth it.

Lego Monster Fighters Haunted House 10228 in the progress of being put together

I found this partially disassembled Lego Monster Fighters Haunted House at a thrift store for $30. It has the vampire and Frankenstein minifigures but unfortunately not the ghosts or others, and I'll see if anything else major is missing as I put it back together.

It has entertaining monster encounters but it wasn't as enjoyable as The High Crusade, and though the main character acknowledging the strangeness of female entities in the fantasy world he's in constantly throwing themselves at him or tempting him, the repeated joke(?) gets tiresome.

More Appendix N: Three Hearts and Three Lions by Poul Anderson- the Bronson Pinchot audiobook is mostly good but the Scottish dwarf accent is nearly incomprehensible, and some of the other voices are only a little better (which I think reflects the source text)
