Porch Cat is such a great work companion. He adores typing but doesn't walk on keyboards. He just chills on his bed where he can feel the keyboard and tells me to keep typing.

For the record, I do not typically buy organic produce and I don't care about plastic touching my food, but I do try to reduce my single use plastic use, and it just seems... odd.

Something that has been confusing me when I do my grocery shopping: organic produce is marketed as "greener" and "healthier" but it seems to involve a LOT more plastic packaging than the other produce. Aren't the same people worried about organic also worried about plastic touching food?

Today's strategy for making online teaching work: speaking my students' names as I type my responses to their work.
(I also have a notes document open where I'm making observations on the class as a whole)

I secretly fantasize about being a professional "agony aunt". I want people to write me anonymous letters asking for advice and then I do a column/podcast/vlog where I give them advice. I think I'd be good at it, but I have no idea how to monetize or start.

The past 7 days have been so many stressful (but hopeful) moments for me personally and now I'm sitting here trying to decompress so I can focus. Brain is like a butterfly right now.

But, you know, something something Seattle freeze (and I'm ok with that).

Today's commute thought: how many of these fellow human beings walking these Seattle sidewalks or taking this train have I interacted with online and we wouldn't know each other's faces?

Ok, I'm all on board for this not buying stuff on Feb. 28, but I have some real questions. Mostly, how is it an expectation that we all buy stuff every single day? I spend money perhaps 2x/ week, usually just 1x, so it's not really asking much of me to skip 1 day.

And then just grabbing the former king's crown while you step over his still- warm corpse.

Calling yourself a king doesn't make you a king. Collecting a magic mirror, a magic shield, and a magic chest of gold coins does.

Porch Cat has been wearing his handwoven cotton collar for YEARS. Literally. I think 4 years? It's curling a little but otherwise in very good condition.
I sell my crafts because I know they're durable and good quality.

Those who know me well know that I'm the very picture of deference in real life. A lady randomly yelled at me at a bus stop and the best I could do was say "I'm sorry, what did I do?"
I don't enjoy my rage and crying dreams. I find them very stressful. But I wish I had some of that confidence.

I really wish I was as assertive as dream me. Dream me can be a jerk, but she speaks up for herself in ways I literally can only dream of.
Last night's dream, she literally told a guy to eff off because he asked for free labor. She threw an event into chaos because a leader was being sexist.
