GO! MY LABUBU MISSILE! KILL!
19.07.2025 05:37 โ ๐ 16249 ๐ 6308 ๐ฌ 212 ๐ 581Biden put democrats in an impossible position. It wouldn't have been enough time to do a primary after he dropped out, so their only real option was to go with Harris, which resulted in Trump winning. Harris was so unpopular in the 2020 election that she dropped out before the primaries.
10.07.2025 17:49 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Primaries when an incumbent president is running again are basically a formality. Biden was clearly unfit to serve as president even during his term, let alone when he was campaigning. It would've been an even worse blowout election if he didn't drop out.
10.07.2025 17:45 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Is he wrong? If Biden didn't run for reelection, we would've had an actual Dem primary and would've likely had a stronger candidate than Harris. Biden's decision to run again was a huge mistake.

27.01.2025 01:46 โ ๐ 14987 ๐ 1893 ๐ฌ 194 ๐ 117The President is the leader of the party in power. If he really wanted these things to pass, he should've advocated for them! Isn't it convenient that left-wing populist ideas are always touted during campaigns and at the end of a term, but not a peep during their term?
16.01.2025 15:13 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Typical establishment Dem model.
Say all the populist left wing stuff to gain popularity. While in power do absolutely nothing to make them happen & purely operate to maintain/restore the status quo.
Leave saying all the left wing populist stuff that need to be done now you no longer have power.
Well yeah, they outsource it because they're car manufacturers, not electricity distributors. It's quite unusual for Tesla to own both the charging network and the vehicles, it would be like if Exxon manufactured cars
I see it more but not nearly enough. The govt needs to subsidize home L2 charging
NACS wasn't "standardized" until 2021 (completely proprietary before then), and open sourced in November 2022. Within a year after that, pretty much all legacy carmakers committed to use NACS in all of their NA cars starting in 2025.
J1772 was created in 2009, and CCS in 2011, and Tesla's in 2012
I'm glad they open sourced NACS because it's a better standard than J1772, but they did it to get more cars on their supercharger network to make more money.
We need to be prioritizing more L2 chargers than L3, since the vast majority of people only need to use L3 chargers on road trips
I agree with that. I also like the fact that there are no dealerships, which IMO is truly a relic of a bygone era
However, I think Tesla is doing that because it's profitable for them, not out of the goodness of their hearts. If it were, they would've open sourced NACS from the beginning
You could, and should, make the same arguments about climate change in general. I agree with you in general that we need to be taking actions now, but to be honest I'm very pessimistic about actually reducing emissions enough to meet any of our target goals for warming
07.01.2025 16:30 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0None of those points are unique to Tesla vehicles, which is my main point
07.01.2025 16:29 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0It wouldn't take 200 years. The Netherlands is an example of a country that has prioritized reducing car dependency within their cities over the past 30 years and has drastically transformed their cities. It's not perfect obviously but it's evidence that it's possible.
07.01.2025 16:25 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0That's not true, like not even close. EV sales in the US were only around 50% Tesla, and their market share is falling. I expect it to fall more, especially because the EV tax credit may be going away when Trump gets into office.
07.01.2025 16:20 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I'm not even anti EV, I own one myself. But it's silly to pretend that they're crucial to solving climate change because it's too short-sighted of a solution. Car dependency causes a vast number of issues even outside of emissions.
07.01.2025 16:14 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0The battery technology used in EVs means there's a lot of up-front GHG emissions. Yes, over the lifetime of the car it will eventually pollute less than an ICE car, but let's not pretend they're completely emission-free. EVs also still produce other forms of air pollution, like tire and brake dust.
