He taught my 1L con law class at UVA. What a brilliant, approachable, and humble guy. Best class I ever took. A shame that decency isn't given the credit it deserves.

As someone who spends a lot time thinking about the values I want to teach my kid (besides PLEASE DON’T EAT DIRT), the thing I keep coming back to is this: I want him to believe that the strongest, bravest thing he can do is give a shit about other people—especially ones who aren’t like him at all.

The USPS feels to me like a bureaucratic miracle. I drop a physical item into a mailbox, and for a price close to zero, it gets delivered anywhere in our gigantic, geographically diverse nation in relatively timely fashion.
