any #chronicillness folks on here? i need some friends to commiserate with. how do y’all live with the constant pain? i found this description pain chart and realized i’m living at baseline 5-6, with regular flare ups to 8-9. i am falling apart i don’t know how to keep going like this…

but i don’t want to apply for disability because grappling with the identity change of being someone who built their entire life upon ambition and conventional measures of achievement to someone with a functional disability, unable to perform basic desk job work. it’s harrowing. is this my life now?

i work with an occupational therapist who’s been recommending i apply for disability since june. but i decided to tough it out and start a new job since self employment wasn’t paying the bills.

now i am so burned out and in pain all i do after work is cry and/or dissociate.

not to mention CHRONIC ILLNESS!!
i have to see drs at least 2x a month now i lose money taking time off work for appointment (drs aren’t open weekends), i have to pay for proof that i was at the drs??

i don’t wanna be a doomer and say this sytem is cooked but this system sure as shit is cooking me
