Just want to say I'm sorry to hear about how hard things are at home. I work with a lot of older adults who have dementia, so I know a little bit about what they and their family caregivers go through... it is the cruellest, most unfair disease. 😢 Hang in there. 💜

Alien: Earth Was Ultimately a Letdown | Stephanie Vee Logical inconsistencies and poor writing ended up ruining what would have otherwise been an interesting addition to the Alien universe.

Some thoughts on the final three episodes of Alien: Earth. What a letdown. A master class in how to quickly ruin a good premise while making a mockery of the original IP. And to think, I was still optimistic about the show a little over two weeks ago...

Yup! We were allowed to use calculators in school, but we still had to SHOW OUR WORK and demonstrate that we understood what we were doing. The process matters more than the answer, in many cases - which is something the AI bros don’t seem to get.

I can’t STAND the “it’s just a tool, like a calculator!” argument. Honey, calculators weren’t built off the stolen labour of the entire internet. Calculators didn’t threaten to negatively disrupt entire industries. Calculators don’t require a data centre to run. They’re not the same thing.

No shit, Google! I wish there was an open source social media platform devoted *solely* to those of us who run independent websites, so we can share and talk about what we're doing with other humans... Search platforms have failed us in their haste to integrate generative AI features.

OK, so this is major news; two months after purchasing an expensive wicker basket for the cats, ONE OF THE CATS *FINALLY* DECIDED TO CURL UP IN THE BASKET.

Agreed. I found Romulus massively overhyped, and had given up hope on ever enjoying any new addition to the franchise. I'm enjoying Alien: Earth so much, and wasn't at all expecting to.
