I spent several hours yesterday evening squashed between two giant men on a plane, manspreading with abandon, and using both armrests to dig their elbows into my waist, so forgive me if I’m not terribly sympathetic about a little “slow walking” 😂

Good news, guys! We told the rental company as soon as the accident happened. They hadn’t given us the right form to complete so we tried to report to the police but couldn’t. We returned the car as planned, filled in the form at their office, and didn’t need to pay a penny. Quick, easy, no charge.

Yes, I’ve thought about this. Yes, I obviously have too much time on my hands.

This just isn’t true. They taste very similar but that’s about it. Genuine weetabix has decent structural integrity so it doesn’t fall apart the minute you take it out of the packet or add a drop of milk. The paper packaging doesn’t cause static - crumbs will cling like glue to plastic wrap.

This wasn’t that - someone undertook without checking the lane was free (it wasn’t - we were there) but yeah, that can definitely be a problem.

I tried once while visiting a friend but I barely made it a few hundred yards before getting so terrified that I made her take over again. I have no intention of ever trying again and for that we should all be eternally grateful.

If all drivers wishing to be dickheads to each other could kindly avoid whacking into other cars and pissing off without stopping, that would be much appreciated please. Particularly when said other car is a hire car in a foreign country that may or may not have adequate insurance.

Fingers crossed the extra insurance they more or less forced on us actually does what we paid it to do!

Just me, my husband, and the cats at home, and we love having a cleaner. We both work full/almost full time and have parents nearby with particular needs. The last thing we want to spend our free time on is cleaning.

Is “family trade” the nice way of saying that we sent kids up chimneys and down the mines? Because I’m not sure these parents would necessarily be on board with that idea now…

Yes, it was me. I got some really useful things from @themathsbazaar.bsky.social who has already replied with the link. I have got some answers now and take photos of stuff tomorrow if you remind me. I particularly like the ten similar integrals one.

My version of this was when I was about 9, walking into a rusty metal flue grate which poked into my forehead about two inches from my eye. I wasn’t looking because I was about to pet a very cute dog. I still have a dent in my head but otherwise all fine!
