Indiana has two of the most insane catches I have ever seen drive and I think we all know what curse PSU has placed on it, but it’s still amazing to see the new ways they lose these top 5 games.

An angle I haven’t seen talked about: everyone knew Varsho wouldn’t hit a line drive to 3B, so the only reason Muncy is so close to the bag is to force IKF into that conservative secondary. LAD essentially took a fielder out of the equation on a batted ball to prevent a good jump on that exact play.

The stars were plentiful, and in the aftermath of the lunacy, one of them stood in the Dodgers' clubhouse, still trying to process what happened. Will Klein, the last man out of the Dodgers' bullpen, a reliever who had topped out this year at two innings and 36 pitches, threw four innings of one-hit ball and struck out five on 72 pitches. The last of them, an 86 mph curveball, induced a swing-and-miss from Tyler Heineman and a scream from Klein, who understood what had been asked of him and knew he'd delivered.

Games don't become classics without efforts like Klein's -- and he had an admirer who wanted to acknowledge that. Into the Dodgers' clubhouse strode Sandy Koufax, his eminence of Dodgers pitching, who, at 89 years old, looked no worse for the wear at 12:48 a.m. Koufax walked up to Klein, stuck out his hand, looked him in the eyes and said: "Nice going."

I can’t go back to my life from before this game. I’ve changed. Only those who watched will understand

That fruit assortment on the cutting board in the Blue Jays dugout in the 16th inning is a truly elite clubby move. That man should get playoff shares from Toronto if they win this game

Seeing Clayton Kershaw out there has got me thinking about Octobers past and how life threw us a curveball. I know the past is the past, but if we could get one more at bat us maybe we can ride off into the sunset together.

Kirk probably actually takes off on the pitch on 3-2, 2 outs, so probably a wash

Incredible relay but you absolutely can’t send the runner there once Teoscar came up with it clean and throw to Edman was on line with Vlad coming up

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say the meeting at the mound before that Ohtani at bat didn’t end with the pitching coach saying β€œlet’s hammer a middle middle FB first pitch”

Louie Varland looks like he’s one of those relievers that has a secret stash of the original Jack3d that he freebases before jogging in from the bullpen

That certainly wasn’t the latest strike call in history with a runner on base and there’s a reason you don’t see guys picked off like that every time it happens

A little concerning how many baseball writers immediately conflate a late (and admittedly wrong) strike call with malicious intent. Given that Varsho ended up walking anyway, no one says a word about that call if Bichette doesn’t assume the call and wander off towards 2B

Knowing how that baseball ops department operates, there was almost certainly a set-in-stone plan that it was Kirby two times through, Woo one time through, and Munoz for as many as 6 outs but no sooner than the 8th

A lot of credit to Joe Davis who was all over the "what about AndrΓ©s MuΓ±oz in the 7th?" wayyyy ahead of time.

Going from Bob Melvin to Tony Vitello as a manager is going to give everyone on that team/support staff so much whiplash.

It’s absolutely hilarious to me that the 2025 Dodgers are like a family where every member is wildly successful and respected, but the bullpen is like the youngest brother who you have to hide the good liquor and lock up your valuables when he’s around.
