All right! I'm a little over half way through and I still have about half my time left so I should finish with effort but not a lot of stress.

Here, have another video of traditional music from Acadia that incorporates turlutte:

Argh my brain is shutting down and I have two days to complete a 7 minute presentation on "turlutte."

No, not cephalopod fishing lures in France.

No, not oral sex in France.

Québécois folk music made by singing in an onomatopoeic manner. Often with fiddles and podrythmie (foot stomping).

Almost a year now since I received this absolutely classic burn from the Canadian government.

As a non-science major it was great to have science courses taught by people who took us seriously as students.

Has anyone noticed that app buttons on the iPhone are starting to in-flatten? MyRadar, Yelp, and Bluesky all have brightness around the edges that makes them look a little 3-D:

I can only imagine being Canadian feels a bit like living next to a frat house that's always throwing ragers and getting the cops called on them and dumping trash in the front yard

and then every once in a while they complains that Canada's lawn is over 4 inches and in violation of HOA

Nusantara is a city under construction that will become the new capital of Indonesia, replacing Jakarta, a city wracked by environmental problems.

Johannesburg and Cape Town nearly ran out of water in 2020. Now Tehran.

Many centers of power will be relocated out of environmental necessity.

Relying on ChatGPT to teach you about a topic leaves you with shallower knowledge than Googling and reading about it, according to new research that compared what more than 10,000 people knew after using one method or the other.

In Nepal, all good dogs are worshipped On the second day of Nepal’s Tihar festival, dogs were celebrated with flower garlands and treats in a ritual to please the Hindu god of death.

Oh mah gawwwd, this is as wonderful as the Nepalese Hindu celebration of doggos!!

WMF was driving around Point Reyes last night looking for a good spot to see the Aurora Borealis. When we parked the car and got out, we saw some eyes on the other side of the fence. It turned out to be a coyote and a badger. I’m guessing they were hunting together? Or maybe just having a visit.

"Over twenty years ago, a boy I liked gave me a couple CDs he burned. One was a Mitch Hedburg set, and the other was an unlabeled album of dreamy electronica unlike anything I had ever heard. The relationship didn't work out, and I never knew what the music was. Well, today I heard some familiar sounds on Def Con Radio, and that was it. Now I know my high school crush gave me a copy of the debut album from Boards of Canada. I hope Soma FM can keep internet radio alive, and keep introducing me to new music, one way or another." -- Dustin

This is a great critique of modern fantasy shows in general. Limited release trying to tell an epic story, years of production time, and then a failure of interest from fans who are expected to remember everything across multiple year gaps. 1/2
