A better way of saying this is that Republicans are more likely to imagine discrimination where there is none and Democrats are more likely to see things as they actually are.

If a scientific study received state or federal funding it ought to be available for free. Same for if the research was conducted in a state university. This holds for non scientific research as well - publicly supported research should be available for free
