everything that is wrong with Elon Musk can be summed up in the fact that there’s nobody in his life who can sit him down and tell him how embarrassing this is

Tom Cotton is a graduate of Harvard Law School, and he's telling us it's proof that Trump's boat attack victims are drug traffickers if CNN doesn't interview their grieving relatives.

Where are all the free market types? Turning the most powerful economy in the history of the world into a hotbed of crony capitalism with a rigged justice system

1) There were interviews. Fox didn't air them.
2) Due process isn't just for people we think are innocent. It's for everyone, even when we think they are guilty.
3) The US benefits from countries observing the traditional laws of the sea, and has every reason to set that example.

Astonishing to stop and realize that, at any given moment, bands of masked men armed to the teeth are storming churches and daycares, terrorizing entire communitiesβ€”and that most of the country's political establishment barely blinks.

Excerpt from a BBC article: ""We usually work, 10, 11 or 12 hours a day," says a 49-year-old woman from Jiangxi unwilling to give her name. "On Sundays we work around three hours less."

She is in an alleyway, where a dozen people are huddled around a row of bulletin boards.

They are reading the job ads on the board, while examining the stitching on a pair of chinos draped over it.

This is Shein's supply chain. The factories are contracted to make clothes on order - some small, some big. If the chinos are a hit, orders will ramp up and so must production. Factories then hire temporary workers to meet the demand their permanent staff cannot fulfil.

The migrant worker from Jiangxi is looking for a short-term contract - and the chinos are an option.

"We earn so little. The cost of living is now so high," she says, adding that she hopes to make enough to send back to her two children who are living with their grandparents.

"We get paid per piece," she explains. "It depends how difficult the item is. Something simple like a t-shirt is one-two yuan [less than a dollar] per piece and I can make around a dozen in an hour.""

The people who make Shein's clothes labor for ten to twelve hours per day (in violation of China's labor laws), some up to seven days a week, and earn as little as 15 to 30 cents per t-shirt.

Instead of considering whether the super-rich really need a tax cut, the Trump regime is considering whether poor people really need to eat.

Is it a threat to free speech when the President of the United States threatens to yank the broadcast license of a channel whose reporters are asking him challenging questions?

I ask because I feel like there used to be tons of pundits worried about free speech. Where'd they go?

"Things happen" sometimes, like when you walk into an embassy to apply for your marriage license while your bride-to-be waits outside, but then you get bonesawed to pieces for having exercised freedom of speech as an US-based journalist and have to be carried out in a series of suitcases.

What a vile piece of shit the president is, speaking of the murder of a journalist as though it doesn’t matter, sitting next to the engineer of said murder and praising him.

As he sits next to the thug who ordered it.

Western aid cuts could cause 22.6 million deaths, researchers say More than 22 million people, many of them children, could die preventable deaths by 2030 due to aid cuts by the United States and European countries, new research said Monday.

Global north aid cuts will lead to 22.6 million deaths by 2030, including 5.4 million children under five

This is the single most destructive, wantonly cruel policy we've enacted in a long time. 10 million parents will watch their babies die needlessly

There has never been a clearer example of the fact that we do not have a legislature in the United States right now. Trump tells them to vote no, so they all vote no. Then Trump changes his mind and they all change their votes. That is autocracy. Vote them out!
