I'm a former east-coaster that has lived in Seattle now...24 years. May I ask about your experience and what you found most challenging?

As an ace person (who identifies as queer), I've seen ace folks who do not identify as queer, and are more, say, heteronormative. I wonder if this is stemming from one of those corners, and they are searching for, "strong 'straight' lady stories without romance." Hard to say by the description...

Use libraries, go to AO3 (for both fanfiction and original). Lots of free opportunities to read stuff if you need free. We are hemorrhaging legit free reads everywhere.

If you live in a country where you can still legally purchase these books, then support the authors. Don't steal from them.

Don't pirate books. You're not owning the system by stealing from authors--real people--most of whom have to work other jobs along with writing the art that you wish to devour and love.

Don't be like LLM companies that steal books to fill these endless hallucinating maws so they can profit.

No love interests, or any of note. It's pretty action-piece to action-piece, and the relationships are friends, mentors, or familial (i.e. Harrison Ford's Ross and his daughter.)

I try yelling "nooooooo" as it is TOO EARLY to feed them, but he gets more and more persistent as he tries every trick, from ripping the carpet to nibbling my finger to get me up. (The kicker is they have dry food already!)

My cats have adopted multiple middle of the night wake-ups. A 3am wake-up, and a previously 6am wake-up that has now traveled south to 5am. All about food. My one young but huge cat who has deemed himself Alpha has adopted a method of knocking over my water bottle or tearing at the carpet.

Great installment. Was not expecting the deep cut Secret of NIMH reference. Also, as an aside, really miss hearing y'all on the podcast. With all the TV talk out there, y'alls is irreplaceable.
