🀬 Stealing money from students. Lining their pockets with public education funds. And they complain about teachers’ unions.

Is there anything the Ford government does that doesn’t come with the stink of corruption?

Bruce Arthur: The Blue Jays can be the biggest team in baseball and go for it every year. Will Rogers step up? Toronto’s ownership has spent money on the team in recent years, but this run was a first-hand reminder of what true ambition looks like, along with the results to match.

It's easy to say and hard to do, but the real lesson of these Jays is the highest level of ambition and commitment to this team will be rewarded with the biggest market in baseball. The Jays - and Rogers - should aim to become Dodgers north. www.thestar.com/sports/blue-...

Yukoners voted for electoral reform. They probably won't get it | CBC News Yukon's incoming premier may have campaigned on a message of "change," but when it comes to the territory's voting system, Currie Dixon says he's happy to keep things just the way they are. That's des...

Not enough people are talking about the actual biggest political story in North America this week.

A majority of voters in the Yukon voted (in a non-binding plebiscite) in favour of moving to a ranked-ballot voting system.

Our Hoekstra Response Should be a Lesson in Diplomacy - Policy Magazine Restraint is central to the art of diplomacy. Diplomats are supposed to manage disputes, not inflame them by trading personal insults or creating a public

If US ambassador to Canada Pete Hoekstra keeps behaving as he has, the Canadian government will surely have to call him in for a formal rebuke. And if we don't, it will be a choice of discretion over valour, a sign that we have been cowed.

If I’m a Dodgers fan, the win last night ought to feel more like relief, not triumph. β€œYay, they did the thing everyone expected thanks almost entirely due to the domination of a single pitcher.”

I was thinking the same thing.

Did they win the World Series? No.

But they didn’t lose. Dodgers won based on two (of four) extra-inning wins, both of which could have gone either way.

If LA didn’t have Yamamoto, things would have been much different.

Jays are still champions.

It’s not even choking.

You’re up against the best team money can buy who rolled through last and this playoffs against whoever they faced and they pushed them to extra innings in game 7 with two hobbled starters & a bunch of guys who started in the minors.

They deserve all the respect.

I appreciate they have a different lived experience, but…

The Dodgers are a ridiculously stacked, wealthy team that doesn’t reflect much about LA’s challenges.

No city β€œdeserves” a sports trophy no matter how unjust or traumatic their politics.

I cheer for the Jays team, not Toronto the city.

Dodgers win it in 11 innings of game 7 against a team they expected to humiliate and take in 4. #WellDoneBlueJays you'll always be my champions!!!

CBS News kills its climate unit David Ellison, the new pro-Trump chief executive of Paramount Skydance, has dismantled the best climate change reporting team in cable news.

A scoop that I’m not happy to report:

CBS News has gutted its climate change reporting team, one of the best in the business, and one of the only ones on cable news that consistently called out fossil fuels as the main source of climate pollution.

Almost 40% of CPC voters polled see Trump in tariff negotiations as "methodical & strategic" as opposed to "irrational & erratic". In contrast, 5% of both Liberal & NDP voters think Trump's "methodical & strategic" in his negotiations. So a big group of Canadians don't have Trump's number. #CdnPoli

A Yesavage splitter to Ohtani is shown with arm side (away from a lefty) movement

If you looked at Trey Yesavage's repertoire in a 3D tunnel, you wouldn't even know he was right-handed.

His splitter goes *the wrong way*. It's like a throwback to screwballs before they stopped teaching kids screwballs in the 90s because it was melting their ligaments

11 Ks for Trey Yesavage ties his own #Bluejays record for most strikeouts in a post-season start. He did that in his playoff debut vs. NYY in the ALDS.

it also ties Don Newcombe of the Brooklyn Dodgers for the most Ks by a rookie in a World Series game. This is wild.
