Haha my mum might have been the midfield enforcer, shin pads were for wimps! Back when yellow cards were rare...

My mum doing her bit for women's football back in the late-60's! That kit would have been in Wolves 'Old Gold' colours which my Grandad chose for his youth team as he loved Billy Wright.

Evergreen shoebox of random stuff has arrived 😍

To be fair the notebook is good timing, as mine has just run out of available space to write on. Right on! I shall use the bottle opener to open it. #pafc

Something for all of us who have ever done rural touring. Single roads, high hedges, no signal, can you see the road sign? Here Larry Grayson talks a bit about a tour he did to places like Christow, Chudleigh, Lamerton... All in 1947 and on a lorry! All power to you Larry 🫑

'No energy' - Thomas Tuchel unhappy at 'silent' Wembley during England's win over Wales England boss Thomas Tuchel sees his side score three times in 20 minutes in their 3-0 friendly win over Wales, but is left frustrated by the Wembley atmosphere.

What is Tuchel expecting from a mid-week friendly against Wales? No international friendly anywhere on this planet is going to have energy. Be grateful anyone actually turned up or stuck around.

He does seem to be a man who loves being a bit a tosser.

Javi Gracia: Watford reappoint former boss after sacking Paulo Pezzolano Watford sack head coach Paulo Pezzolano after just 10 games in charge of the Championship club and replace him with former boss Javi Gracia.

Watford must have the sacking statement with blanks ready to be filled in on their desktop.

Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V, job done.

Felt like an utter clever bastard watching Mastermind last night. Helped that one of the specialist subjects was Queen. I won't be modest - I was amazing.

Now all I need is someone to do Argyle fullbacks of the 90's. Unless I have to apply myself and would they take it?

As a fan of an NFL team, I don't think I deserve to see them in my home country.

Many things about football are further removed from the cultural and social contexts in which they evolved in. Ticket prices, walled training complexes, teams rushing out the back door are distancing enough. No more.

Archetypal mid-table League One game. Surprised it took Wigan that long to realise that if you let us have the ball and force us to think we struggle.

Like being given a blank piece of paper and Hemmingway stands over you screaming "Write a novel!" #pafc

It's all very mid-table. With Tolaj and Oseni in form we can potentially nick it. Over hitting passes and first touches isn't helping.

Nearly 30 years ago, a 3-1 win against Wigan. In modern parlance Adrian Littlejohn with 3 goal involvements, one of which includes a bamboozling dummy on Colin Greenall who must have bust a lung in his sprint.

Also two splendid air kicks. Only 2 of the 3 Amigos played. #pafc

Taylor Swift feared happiness could 'dry up' her songwriting Taylor Swift took part in a string of UK interviews to coincide with her latest album's release on Friday.

Now Taylor Swift is not alone in this, but one thing culture can really do with dumping is this trope of art coming from misery.

It can end up fetishing some very real mental health issues. It can also validate behaviours which frankly should not be tolerated.

What also grinds my gears about this, is there are some reflections in arts funding. Each new round of core funding "We must ensure we have institutions like the National, RSC etc."

The ones delivering important work in a community outside of those areas inevitably suffer or cease to exist. Argh!

Those clubs have withdrawn far more across recent decades.

Stopped sharing home gate receipts.

The breakaway.

Not paying their actual share as promised in said deal.

Insisting on us playing their B-teams.

Each renegotiation threatening to withdraw everything.

No FA Cup replays... #pafc

Birmingham owner: Premier League elite clubs should be 'protected at all costs' Birmingham City owner Tom Wagner says lower-league clubs should not take too much in pyramid payments and allow the biggest teams in England to drive global interest.

What a pile of protectionist old bollocks. Football is stronger and more interesting when there is competition from more than a select few.

The top clubs histories and achievements aren't isolated. They happened because the pyramid provides the games to do it. #pafc

If football had a spine they would boycott playing in the US. Infantino is a big ol' shill, so it's up to individual associations to grow one and start to pull out. Use the soft power wisely for once as it will have an impact. Should've happened in Russia, then Qatar...

I've always wanted Argyle to do a tea set of players with only 1 appearance. Included in it would be -

Rab Douglas tea pot
Alex Bray saucer
Sascha Opinel china mug
Dean Crowe "Bugger this I'm off" strainer.

I think this would sell well. I really, really do. #pafc
