Ah fun! So would that be something like taking selfies in GTA 5?

What is something cool in gamedev that you know you want to use in the future but have not yet tried?

Could be for a game, or just a tech demo.

I'll go first- I want to do something with perlin noise. I've done some research on it but haven't actually used it for anything yet.

A python's heart grows up to 40% bigger within 48 hours of eating a meal. Researchers found that their blood had a specific cocktail of fatty acids that turns their blood milky white. When researchers injected a low dose of this mixture into mice (carefully and over time) the mice hearts grew too!

I wonder how many WIP gamedev projects are NOT in source control.

It's something I take for granted and just assume everyone is doing, but I keep hearing horror stories of people losing their work.

I wonder what the % is. I think dwarf fortress was not in source control for a very long time.

I think I've used tweens since my very first godot project, but it's pretty cool that they're built right in. I used them again for the color changes in this one.

Ladies and gentlemen! I present to you, my re-creation of the classic windows screensaver "mystify your mind". But because I made it, I called it "midge-ify your mind". Play it fullscreen on itch and pretend it's 1992. I made it in godot.

Alrighty that should do it. I randomized color changes, speed changes and angle changes when the points bounce off of the edge of the screen. Also handled some of the screen resizing issues. I'll probably put it on itch tonight if anyone wants to stare at it.

There was an old windows screensaver back in the day called "mystify your mind". I've been recreating the effect in godot. It's most of the way there, I want to add some color changes, velocity changes, and direction changes. Also adjust follow distance.

Honestly, AI slop PRs are becoming increasingly draining and demoralizing for #Godot maintainers.

If you want to help, more funding so we can pay more maintainers to deal with the slop (on top of everything we do already) is the only viable solution I can think of:

I was trying to assign a list of nodes on an export variable.

The workaround is to use nodepaths and then just call getnode on them.

I was trying to do a little coding last night when I was a bit too tired.

Something I expected to work did NOT work. I was a little bit relieved when I googled it and learned it was a known issue. Took that as a sign to go to bed.
