04.08.2025 20:12 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Not sure. I went looking for the date today and noticed the website.
04.08.2025 19:09 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Yup, and they took part in the parade do obviously still supportive
04.08.2025 19:09 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Oh right, I thought it was just us on St James's St that didn't have them because of the move. That's awful.
This was the advice they were given though. Maybe they had to carry proof of address, but that seems unworkable if you have guests.
Lol yes! I'm not sure what she was up to, she seemed to get up then climb back down again.
I feel the same about approaching people I don't know in person but it would have been nice to say hi ๐
Glad to hear it. As I say, i just saw the one.
04.08.2025 18:28 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0I can't imagine even the worst local complainers would have something against trained (well, mostly) dogs running around an open-to-all fckin park for a couple hours so it can't be that either.
04.08.2025 18:22 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Unfortunately the Pride Dog Show 2025 has been cancelled. We hope to return in 2026.
Something odd going on with @brightonpride.bsky.social . After the cock up's (not in a good way) this weekend, they quietly cancelled the Pride Community Day & Dog Show with no explanation.
This sweet little event can't cost very much and must fund itself anyway, with the sponsorship.
And for an event that's partially set up to raise money for good causes, I saw one person collecting and they were in Legends. Nothing in the park or anywhere else.
04.08.2025 16:58 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0When the c**ts are under 18, I think their parents need to be held culpable too tbh.
04.08.2025 16:32 โ ๐ 5 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I wish I hadn't and I completely agree with you Joe. It's very eye for an eye and not what a civilised society should do but sometimes, for some people, my rage about this makes me want these c**ts to go through exactly what they put others through.
04.08.2025 16:31 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Immensely upsetting news article about two 17 year olds detained for the most extreme animal cruelty, this follows another from the BBC about a group that specialises in this for fun.
Words cannot express my rage and revulsion.
Penalties for animal cruelty in the UK are pitiful.
Lock the c**ts up
The policing looked heavy handed and intimidating outside the street party and I guess there was some overcrowding and trouble on Saturday, but it wasn't that bad and we NEVER see the police the rest of the year when we actually need them.
@brightonpride.bsky.social really need to start listening.
Additionally, residents of the street complain about the noise and tbh, if you live there, what do you expect? But also, the venues could absolutely lower the volume to the being able to have a conversation point. Again, luckily Legends had it just about right. So we stayed there ๐
04.08.2025 16:15 โ ๐ 8 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Again, the drinks were a rip-off. E.g. On Friday night, the Camelford Arms charged ยฃ7 per pint, on Sunday it was more like ยฃ9. Thank God for Legends who kept it at about ยฃ6 (still too much mind).

Then we have the street party. A whole lot different from last year with 2 streets pushed into 1 and I'm guessing from the seemingly low Sunday turnout, people stayed away because of the change and increased ticket prices.
The security staff were great though.
And Mariah with her Without You.
04.08.2025 16:15 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0The music was decent. Here's Loreen with her Europhoria
04.08.2025 16:15 โ ๐ 5 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Then there's the drinks... ยฃ6.50 for a 330ml can of lager, last year they were charging similar for a pint (568ml) and when you buy 2 to avoid the lengthy queues again, the bar staff insist on opening them. H&S?
Again, who on a lower income can afford that?
Overall problem was too many people in a smaller space. Greed is at play here across the board from @brightonpride.bsky.social.
Ticket fees were reasonable but ยฃ14 for chips with a sprinkle of a topping is appalling and that pricing excludes those on lower incomes.
Photo of the park with lots of people sat on the green grass.
The park on Saturday was good, eventually. This was the quietest part of the park by far. The queuing system was a mess, just confusing and chaotic. Apparently, took earlier attendees hours to get in. There was no need to change the previous years' system that worked really well.
