🏗️ 👷👷‍♀️ Who believes we need 30,000 fewer skilled construction workers than already envisaged?

Well, the government has scaled down its target from 80,000 new skilled construction workers to 50,000 in the National Development Plan (NDP) review

A group of life-sized dummies, dressed to resemble people, are arranged in a small boat placed on top of a large wooden bonfire structure. The dummies wear orange life jackets and are positioned as if sitting together in the boat. The bonfire is built from stacked wooden pallets and towers several metres high. The scene is outdoors under a clear sky, and the overall mood is tense and provocative. The words “RACISM ISN’T CULTURE” and “STOP THE BOATS” are clearly visible within the image, along with the Green Party logo. No real people are present.

Bonfires can bring communities together, but there’s nothing cultural about racism, sectarian threats, or putting people’s homes & health at risk. When bonfires are used to intimidate or target minorities, that isn’t tradition - it’s hate. Celebration is about respect, safety, & dignity for all.

📢 Minister Lawless must stop the €1K hike in college fees immediately. He should apologise to students and their families for the uncertainty he has caused.

💶 A couple of euro saved… a €10m hole in the budget.

A majority of DLR councillors just voted to slash Local Property Tax by 15% — a token cut that’ll save the average homeowner €1–2 a week.

Meanwhile, footpaths, bins, housing maintenance and community spaces will take the hit.

Parliament Street is now traffic free.

It's a big win: these things don't come naturally, though, and it'll progressive staff, politicians and Dubliners to keep this sort of thing coming. Onwards!

Third level students and their families deserve better than false promises. This government should scrap the €1,000 hike in fees without delay, so that students can prepare and budget for the academic term ahead.

Budapest Mayor Gergely Karácsony has bravely stood up against Viktor Orbán's government and supported the organisers of Budapest Pride. Many of the events taking place this weekend are being hosted by his office.

And he's a Green too 😊

A brief update ahead of tomorrow's Budapest Pride.

While the parade itself is banned, we learned that up to 4 counter-marches have been granted licences and will take place along the route.

The new plans for College Green look great.

It'll take political and public pressure to get it done - the Greens will be backing it all the way.

We can build a better Dublin: we just need to keep pushing for it!

The Government is failing in our fight against racism and needs to prioritise the implementation of the plan!

I'm very happy to share with you that, through all of our efforts, we have convinced TII to increase the number of Luas services running from Bride's Glen every morning.

I still think we need more Luas trams running in our fast-growing area so I'll keep the pressure on TII for more.

Passing the Occupied Territories Bill would reverberate internationally — but FF/FG are stalling.

The Attorney General's advice last July raised no issues with banning trade in services with illegal settlements.

The Green Party strongly welcomes the decision of the Camogie Association to call a Special Congress to vote on a motion to allow players to wear shorts or a skort.

Delegates must vote in the best interest of their players at both club and county level.
