Deadlock is an easy 10/10 that can very quickly and easily turn into a 4/10 if you do not play with a group that understands that it's a "TEAM" game

Just gonna say it now. When Deadlock comes out this year, it's a pretty easy contender for GOTY for me.
Valve actually has made something incredibly special with that game that has it's hooks in me extremely hard.

21. Sonic The Hedgehog 2 (6/10)

Tails and Knuckles are alright. Jim Carrey still the GOAT. The human characters are worse and as a "found family" enjoyer, I did not like Sonic referring to Tom as his "dad". Was getting bored halfway into it. By the 3rd act I was like "how is this still going?"

18.02.2026 12:21 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

They go for Sonic being more annoying and a childlike innocent character than his Adventure personality while also giving him a sad backstory that felt really unnecessary and weird. Giving Sonic baggage isn't a bad idea, but the way it's written just felt very hands off and uninspired.

20. Sonic The Hedgehog (6.5/10)

Jim carries (heheh) a large portion of the movie. One of his best roles. Everything else was just sort of meh. The human characters were fine, many of the fight scenes were good. It was aight. Was tuning out a bit towards the end but it was enjoyable.

19. Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (6/10)

Watched it a bunch as a kid and somehow I forgot the blatant transphobic (and homophobic) villain reveal. I guess I didn't really think much of it at the time, but watching it with a modern lens is a true flash bang moment.
Still a really funny movie tho.

I'll say it as many times as I need, but the fidelity, coloring and shading of the season 1 adaptation, has absolutely nothing to do with what I consider to be Chainsaw Man. Colors being completely washed out and shading trying to be too realistic, completely messes with the tone of CSM

Everyone killed it here. The actors killed it. Kensuke Ushio on the music killed it. The direction is the best change they could've possibly made and finally actually looks representative of the original art style. I'm so thankful MAPPA did a 180 on this cuz it would've been so easy to just continue

18. Chainsaw Man Reze-Arc (9/10)

I would like an apology for all the season 1 fans who constantly shat on me for calling it an unfaithful adaptation, cuz it seems like MAPPA listened to me over you and got a new director who actually understands the source material. ALL HAIL TATSUYA YOSHIHARA

I remember seeing this on the "coming soon" tab on MAL for YEARS when I was frequenting the site, and now that it's finally out after all this time, it's so good that the quality of it is amazing.
I wish more Urasawa stuff got adaptations

17. Pluto (9/10)

I don't have much knowledge of Astro Boy outside of the first volume, but It's so like Naoki Urasawa to take the outlandish elements of that original manga and then turning it into a serious conspiracy thriller that still has the biting anti-war messaging but in a modern scope

My biggest gripe with this show is that a lot of the night scenes are too dark to the point where you can't see the show if you watch it at daytime next to a window, and large portions of the show go on during the night.
Outside of that tho, it is one of the best modern shows I've watched.

Incredibly well written. A lot of ponderous and deep lines of dialogue about the world, faith, purpose and fate. Not afraid of getting gruesome, but it frontloads a lot of it's bloody stuff. in the first episodes. Also one of the best OPs of all time. Actually unskippable

I can confirm tho. It was worth catching up just to watch the Maki episode in the 3rd season. One of the last times where I really loved the manga, and they did it justice 1000%. Phenomenal episode.

I like Moore more (heheh) as a filmmaker with a clear message than a documentary maker, cuz his works are always heavily biased in favor of a view he already holds, and therefore angles the documentary to be more provocative, which isn't how you win people over even when you're right

14. Roger & Me (8/10)

One of the few Michael Moore films I hadn't seen. Since it's his first, I was surprised how his style remained the same. Moore's films tend to be very angry, and I definitely also feel that here as he dissects what he believes to be the cause of his hometown turning to shit
