We see that in the ongoing NIH Institute director searches. Historically these searches have been conducted by expert committees- distributing power, leaning into democratic principles. Now a director has 1/
Excellent analysis of the COVID response in the UK & Europe.
Some questionable appraisal of Sweden, without considering comparisons with NZ, Australia - or indeed Finland, Denmark, & Norway.
Many countries minimized COVID deaths AND minimized lockdown, by reducing infections.

People were arguing in my mentions today about whether the Earth is "round" when it's technically an irregular oblate spheroid and look "round" doesn't mean "absolutely perfect sphere" it means round. A soccer ball is round, a cantaloupe is round, a fluffy borb in winter is round, just go with it.

Then and now, Ireland ranks mid-table in the world in terms of cumulative deaths. Which countries were more, or less, successful than us is clear.
Had the Irish government followed the UK response in the 1st COVID wave, we would have suffered about 2,500 further deaths (on top of the 1,635 people who died before May 31, 2020). Thankfully that didn't happen.
Nevertheless, we will await Ireland's COVID-19 Evaluation...

ICYMI: Yesterday, the CDC updated its vaccine safety page to say that vaccines might cause autism (they don’t) and that the science isn’t settled (it is).
For substantiation, the page links out to several studies by anti-vax allies of HHS Robert Kennedy Jr.
