Maps of Maine party affiliation and districts

Maps of Maine party affiliation and districts

Map of the two districts sized to match the party affiliation map. Given desire, maybe requirement, for whole towns in each district, this may be one of least gerrymandered states

Comparison of maps showing the party affiliations and district boundaries in Maine

Based on this visual comparison and knowing they want to have whole towns within the two districts, I suspect this may be one of the least gerrymandered states.

Perhaps the GOP keeps fielding bad candidates in district 2.

Fantastic article

I've been told to expect smaller profit sharing amounts this year :-( but that's far better than pay cuts or being unemployed

Top admiral steps down abruptly amid drug boat strikes Adm. Alvin Holsey oversees Southern Command, where US military strikes against alleged Venezuelan drug traffickers at sea have ramped up.

This is what a top US military officer objecting to illegal orders looks like.

Adm. Alvin Holey is the head of Southern Command, which covers the Caribbean, where Trump has ordered 5 deadly strikes on civilian boats (and counting).

Has integrity, plus he’s Black, so Hegseth presumably welcomed it.

Kinda seems like whether or not the president has the power to assassinate people with no due process, no input from Congress, no review, no oversight, and with no obligation to provide anyone with any information or evidence other than β€œtrust me” is an important test of our democracy.

Administrators at Indiana University baselessly fired the student media director and ordered the student paper to cease its print edition, so it'd sure be a shame if this excellent digital front page were to be widely shared today

Carl was the best!
I'm sure he'd never profess loyalty to Trump like too many others are willing to do. History has clearly shown that bending the knee to an authoritarian never gets the benefit hoped for by otherwise good people when they do it.

I guess we're stuck with gasoline powered cars for at least the next decade. There is no way we can increase public transit or provide electric vehicles w/charging infrastructure for middle & working class people within 10 years for most of the USA. :-(

Will burying biomass underground curb climate change? Though carbon removal startups may limit global warming, significant questions remain.

We're basically out of ideas if our solution to climate change is to dig a hole in the ground and poop in it.

Stories like this are why I have not bought a smart thermostat yet.
It gets to -20Β°C here in the winter and we have to heat with fuel oil so it's very expensive to have the heat turn on when not needed and disastrous if it doesn't turn on when needed.

I second this suggestion.

I find R best when my goal is statistical analysis and plotting.

Python is my choice when I need a general purpose, multi-platform, programming language and don't need very high performance. I find it especially good if your apps need a custom user interface.
