100% this, a critical eye, in a lot of cases, comes from taking a gut feeling about a work and putting words to it. leaving it at "it just isn't for me" means you're not exercising that critical muscle out of a misguided politeness.

"It isn't for me" is, realistically, probably the most complex of all these possible answers as it requires a tuned understanding of what it is you appreciate and value in a work/piece and can only come after the "it's bad" realization. The fact it's just used to handwave discussion away is funny.
