Respect the players by paying them their fair share.

Under Reagan's tax cuts, the average tax cut for the top 1% was 68x larger than the average cut for middle-class households.

Under Bush's tax cuts, it was 16x larger.

And under Trump, 36x larger. 

The GOP has always governed for the privileged few.

Democratic Governors, Why Are You Turning Your Backs on Workers? Oregon’s Tina Kotek did the right thing this week. But other Democratic governors and leaders are opposing measures that would unambiguously help workers. Shame on them.

The day after Lamont vetoed #UIforStrikingWorkers in CT, the Governor of Oregon signed a similar bill into law! And the Governor of Washington State signed their version into law last month.

Protecting working people has only become more urgent since the Trump Administration has gutted the NLRB.

Another interesting (bad) move by Gov. Lamont. This is the second year in a row he's vetoed UI for striking workers legislation. Such a let down. 👎

Thank you to Sen. Martin Looney, @bobduffct.bsky.social and the Senate Democratic Caucus for leading the way and standing in solidarity with workers to pass SB 8. It would have incentivized employers to stop using workers' financial distress as a bargaining strategy, had Gov. Lamont signed it.

At a moment when many working people feel ignored by both major political parties, this is a unique and meaningful opportunity for Gov. Ned Lamont to demonstrate his commitment to working class voters by enacting policies that protect them and their jobs.

The State House just passed UI for Striking Workers! The passage of this bill in both chambers with a bipartisan vote marks a critical victory for working people in our state.

Now it's on Gov. Lamont to do the right thing. He can either stand with corporate CEOs or stand with working people.

Kirby Boyce, member of IAM Local 1746, joined State Senate leaders this morning to urge passage of #UIforStrikingWorkers: "We just ended a 23-day strike at Pratt and I’m sure that if SB 8 was in place, the strike would not have happened in the first place."

Gov. Lamont just threatened to veto our #UIforStrikingWorkers legislation.

This veto threat sends a clear message: Gov. Lamont is more concerned with protecting corporate profits than supporting the working people who make our economy run.
