09.10.2025 00:36 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0If we go with the pop cultural definition of working class, which excludes post secondary education credentials, then every single trade school/vote graduate is not working class.
02.10.2025 19:18 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Noah is correct here with bigotry.
People are more comfortable labeling bigots are ignorant than immoral because labeling something immoral requires direct opposition which is uncomfortable.
Ignorance simply requires instruction to be fixed.
I find his poem starkly describes how bigots build momentum in society that they direct towards expanding who is classified as "undesirable."

29.09.2025 20:58 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I did my first international public lecture about my book last week!
Special thanks to @bloomsburyacad.bsky.social for making the lecture and the book happen.
If you have an hour, check it out

From a political science perspective, I wonder how the DNC party will react if the base reads not advocating for transgender civil rights as a sign that the party itself is soft on protecting civil rights in general.
21.09.2025 19:14 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'm honored to be a part of the Bloomsbury lecture series.
I wrote On Bigotry for times like these and until we confront that bigotry is more than simple ignorance, we will never escape the shadow it casts over everything.

This entire affair makes me think of Henry Louis Gates rebuffing Mari Matsuda's Words That Wound on the grounds that the powers that be would simply deem any speech that offended it or challenged it to he illegal if it could.
21.09.2025 14:42 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Bigotry loves cosplaying as philosophy and concern.
20.09.2025 15:16 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I wrote this book for times like this.
16.09.2025 02:32 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I don't think the political discourse is ready to engage with this.

12.09.2025 04:19 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yeah, the first time I saw that I was cited in a book it freaked me out a little bit.
12.09.2025 04:06 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I cited your 2020 independent essay about vice signaling in my book.
12.09.2025 04:06 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Materialists think they can buy bigots off as if bigotry is not an economic worldview as well as a political one.
07.09.2025 15:13 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Wrote a whole book on why thinking bigotry is just people being uninformed is a mistake because it's deeper than that.
07.09.2025 15:08 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0I know that you're trolling but what is identity orthodoxy?
05.09.2025 23:45 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Mike been trying to make the money that Don King took from him back for a long time.
05.09.2025 00:59 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Bigots cosplay their Bigotry as philosophy, concern, and science for a reason.
It works.
Wrote a book about it.
A lot of cultural moderates are fooled when bigots cosplay their bigotry as philosophy, concern, and science.
01.09.2025 19:22 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yes, but Black millennials watched that happen and those are the folks you're talking about being pessimistic around race relations who also watched the negative reaction to Obama's election in 08 and 12.
31.08.2025 18:34 β π 11 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Any analysis of African American political and activist culture in the 21st century that leaves out the impact of Hurricane Katrina should not be taken seriously.
31.08.2025 15:19 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Where does hurricane Katrina fit into your analysis of how African American culture saw race in America during the Obama years?
31.08.2025 15:17 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Something that @jelaniya.bsky.social said that is true is how hurricane #Katrina had a similar impact on Black America that 9/11 did on the country as a whole.
It really changed how Black culture saw America & was the impetus for millennial Black activists to discover critical race theory.
The amount of people who want to have "civil debates" over topics such as "Is this group of humans more human than others" is depressingly high.
28.08.2025 14:53 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0You haven't noticed that the post-2024 message of blaming wokeness for Harris losing & the silence around the gutting of Civil Rights law, especially regarding disparate impact & section 2 of the VRA, is greatly hurting that traditional advantage?
27.08.2025 11:35 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Very true. I guess the ultimate political question is can MAGA keep its multiracial multi class coalition together and can the left repair theirs?
