Except we don't take away the right to vote from adults who lack mental capacity. Think there are good arguments to lower it a bit. A child can be guilty of a crime at 10! But 16 a reasonable start given it's no more arbitrary than 18. make little difference but shld encourage civic responsibility

This is INCREDIBLE: My headteacher at primary school was v into trains and arranged a trip for the school and chartered a tube train for it. IT MADE THE NEWS. And i'm pretty sure my brother @olibradley.bsky.social is in the clip (at 50 seconds) .https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SvgNFwyOVyI

Amid rising antisemitism at home, our lifeboat abroad seems less attractive

It's a fair point, but prob not as extreme as railways given way data centres built. It's not the case that a 60 mw dc in Ams, say, risks being obsolete as whole, even if the racks, servers, chips etc do, which while maybe 70% of the cost, is much quicker than getting power and building shell etc
03.10.2025 15:03 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0
I guess a similarity is that the data centres built to house the chips is a bit more like the dark fibre of late 1990s. while I think we're unlikely to ever need 1GW data centre in North dakota etc, the boom in DC construction in places closer to where people live could probably be used later

The most environmentally friendly of meats. A pest that breeds and breeds and requires culling and also happens to be delicious and quite healthy! That leads a carefree life until (usually) suddenly and humanely shot. Big fan.

Sadly the police are always on very high alert for the Jewish holidays. And everyone in the community has to do security. I did a shift this morning at my shul in London.

I find Manhattan OK for meandering though. I think because the grid is a lot tighter than Chicago and Broadway mixes it up a bit I guess. There is also a reasonable amount of variation along an avenue. And you never get lost!

Also maybe jewelery can be sold, but TVs, computers etc are worth very little second hand. Risk reward doesn't add up. Bikes work I guess because of speed and volume (and some of them are quite expensive!)

Not at 2am from a driveway in a residential neighborhood though, is my point. They'll look for one without a steering lock first.
23.09.2025 07:38 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0
Old fashioned steering wheel locks are effective though! Modern electronic devices are about speed and quiet. Thrives take expensive cars from driveways in middle of night (in UK houses are close together and drives typically short). Steering wheel lock too much a hassle!

I wanted to get a video of this ghost crab but every time I got close to their hole they scuttled back in, so I tried getting clever with it. I made a little sandcastle and shoved my phone into it, hit record, and walked away. Crab was VERY suspicious of this addition to their environment.

To be fair, Companies are not obliged to report quarterly in UK/ Europe. It is not necessarily a healthy dynamic to be so quarter by quarter driven.
