We also have a specific “Thanksgiving nail” that is used to hammer holes in the top of the can in order to get it out in pristine condition. The holes allows for airflow to break the suction hold that can has on the cranberry sauce. Yes, you can use a knife but that’s less fun.

Aaaaaaaaauuuuuuuugggggghhhhh! I have just seen a Christmas ad on TV. 😡 It is not even midway through October people 🎃

Apparently it was “Bring your tall wading water fowl to work Day”. We had both a great blue heron and an egret in the ponds today. I only managed to get an ok picture of the egret. I need a better camera!*
The kids were convinced the egret was an albino flamingo 🤔.

Not sure of the date but family lore has it that when my Great-grandfather was in the Navy (he was a chaplain) he took a picture of the ship’s cat soon after she’d given birth to a litter of kittens. Later my Great-grandmother made a painting from the photo, which I now have.

This is Autumn. She was born without one paw. Gets along just fine with three, but still sometimes uses a prosthetic leg when she wants to blend in. 13/10
