In Manchester, where buses have been in public control since January, average fares have reduced by 15%, usage is up 4% on the year, punctuality is up on major routes by ~80%, and revenue is 4% over target.

International Development Committee Chair responds to aid cuts - Committees - UK Parliament The Chair of the International Development Committee has today commented on the Government’s announcement of cuts to the UK’s foreign aid budget.

Sarah Champion, Chair of the International Development Committee, said:

“I urge the Prime Minister to rethink today’s announcement. Cutting the aid budget to fund defence spending is a false economy that will only make the world less safe."
