I think I’m getting the hang of this social media thing. I can still get angry and upset at genuine news items, but individuals’ stupid comments make me rise to the bait for barely a split second now. A little while ago, my parents' cat Bridget went missing. As the weeks dragged on, they became extremely worried. My dad devised a way to distract himself: he began to paint Bridget's adventures, imagining her travelling through time and popping up in some of art and music's most iconic scenes.

On a temp move to/from UK, didn’t drug as he had been so distressed. One of us sat in back with his big (canvas this time) carrier open. He lay on top of the carrier looking thro’ windscreen or slept on our knees. We could restrain if he tried to climb over to front seats. 2 cats more tricky though!

When we moved from Provence to Dordogne, the cat broke out if his carrier on the slip road onto the motorway, so couldn’t stop! He sat on OH’s knees, eyes rolling from a very bad ‘trip’. Got him back in carrier, he cried non-stop for 5 hrs, slept final 30 mins. Didn’t dare make any stops. Nightmare.

Yes, if you can get a gp in France (medical deserts) it’s great. Our dr still takes walk-ins in the morning. However, since our old doc (walking distance from house) retired, have to drive 30 mins to new surgery. The lists of the 6 or so docs in our town + those in neighbouring villages are full.
