I've said before that people think leftists enjoy being right. It sucks, actually. I do not want to be proven right, that the national Democratic party is cooked, by them voting for cloture on the CR. I don't get anything out of it, I don't have a podcast to promote, things just keep getting worse.

I don’t know what works, exactly, but I know what doesn’t work. What doesn’t work is the endless and obsessive search for the “one right way” to fix the world. There is no single vanguard who can save us, just like there is no politician or revolutionary leader who will lead us all into a bright, shining future. There’s also no single ideology–not even my beloved anarchism–that’s going to do it. The Zapatistas have a saying that lives in my head, that they’re fighting for a world in which many worlds are possible. If we are fighting for a pluralistic, multicultural world, then we must fight for it in pluralistic, multicultural ways.

1. our solidarity will be based on respect for a diversity of tactics and the plans of other groups. 2. the actions and tactics used will be organized to maintain a separation of time or space. 3. any debates or criticisms will stay internal to the movement, avoiding any public or media denunciations of fellow activists and events. 4. we oppose any state repression of dissent, including surveillance, infiltration, disruption and violence. we agree not to assist law enforcement actions against activists and others.

The book, podcast, music recs of the TikTok community were priceless. So many indie authors and artists' works reached wide audiences. TikTok didn't "dumb down" America or "shorten our attention spans". Rather, the community inspired millions to read more - and more diverse - literature.

Watching a homeless PDXer cooking + trying to stay warm over a little fire on the side of the road. My kid reminds me that homeless folks are more likely to die by fire than any other demographic. Never forget: we can house everyone, keep us ALL warm and fed and we just don't. Bc billionaires.
