There is a competitive imbalance that has been created by large market money, but it is magnified by the majority (!) of teams willingness to not try and rely on tv revenue and people's willingness to go watch a game even if teams suck.

There needs to be a complete retooling of salary if mlb implements a salary cap. Minimum there needs to be a salary floor, incentives need to be put in place for teams that make the playoffs or maybe punishments for teams that don't make it at once every x number of years.

That can be true and the QB choice for the Vikes was the wrong one, add that to a bad series of drafts, negative cap space and a defense that lacks any real talent and it's hard to justify his retention. Jefferson wasn't even his draft, it's down to his hires of KOC and Flores

I feel like darnold made them take a closer look and there's not a lot to support guys retention. KOC and Flores were great hires, but the drafts have been bad, and they have negative cap, the roster is loaded but unbalanced and it's year four of a bad defense that Flores papers over

It's hard to look at the totality of this season and say that letting Sam go was a good idea given their replacement plan. This was a win-now roster and they could have had a playoff ready QB, Seattle showed with the right OC you can go to the Superbowl with Sam (which is also gm responsibility)
