just did the age assurance scan with an image of my face for Bluesky... anyone else curious what their age was estimated at?! Kind of wish it told you - but what a can of worms that would be though!

29.04.2025 06:15 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Anyone else getting sick to death of Rory’s questions on #TheRestIsPolitics? When will he learn that sitting MPs, especially leaders, can’t be drawn in the same way has beens like him can? Always pushing for an attack line.
22.04.2025 09:50 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Loved hearing about his early life and how entrenched politics is. Also that the his mum kept him - more common than I realised that women were often made to give their kids up. He comes from true matriarchal stock.
22.04.2025 09:48 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Interesting interview with @albomp.bsky.social - loved the reference to Dorothy Dixer (which I also got blank looks for ages when using it in the UK). But mostly calm centrist approach to a chaotic world. Would not be brought into issues with Rory’s divisive questioning. Sitting PMs need to balance

Glad things are being revisited and remembered. Only way we can ensure it does not happen again - like much of the response to covid. Shame overseas Australians also get stripped of our right to vote too…

04.04.2025 07:06 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0When Trump says these tariffs are “reciprocal” it’s important to know he’s counting stuff like VAT – which is charged on domestic products as well as imports – as tariffs, which no-one else does. Because they’re not.
So the numbers he’s giving are all nonsense.
A cartoon is headed “How tariffs work”. It proceeds to show a cartoon of Trump in his suit and red tie taking a piss towards a fan with a Canadian maple leaf on it. The fan blows Trump’s piss back into his face. It was drawn and is signed by Bruce MacKinnon and is dated November 26, 2024
Bruce MacKinnon, the editorial cartoonist at the Halifax Chronicle-Herald, drew this last November.
No newspaper would print it.
It now deserves an outing.
Already playing out Boeing vs Airbus. Populism never wins.

This is systems. Nothing can or should be looked at in isolation. From economics to policy and everything else in between. Nature is the best example of unintended consequences
