I think hoping for nerfs to ekko (and yasuo) is just wishful thinking. They are clearly very special boys playing a different game than the other characters. Everything with ekko is working as intended and I'm guessing it has for years

Being brought down by less strong players just picking the top tier and riding on the character strengths

Matchmaking is a very strong force for pushing you towards a 50% win rate, and is essentially divorced from character power. It often has an opposite effect, where a really weak character will have a high winrate at top ranks, due to only being played by experts vs a really popular strong character

I didn't mention stuff like the hit/hurtboxes being auto generated so they feel very sloppy in game, and the developers using ranked winrates as a reason to buff/not buff a character.
