I haven’t voted for any Republican, federal, state or local, since Trump was elected. They could have stopped him and this insanity but chose not to. I will never forget that.

Never joined it. Dumped Facebook in 2021, then Instagram. Then all things Prime. It is quite possible to live without any of them. I get my news from reputable fact based independent journalists. And I check anything that seems odd or off.

The United States of America exists in name only now. We do not have 3 functioning independent branches of government, fair elections are slipping away, the First Amendment is no more. Corruption runs rampant and government serves the very rich.
This is not the country we could have been.

Retired math educator here. We spent too much time and money focusing on math and science. Yes, they are important, but we sacrificed teaching civics. We are paying the price.

I am America. A woman, a daughter, a wife, a mother, a grandmother. I believe in America’s promise to “we, the people.” I believe in our Constitution and the hard work to overcome the past failures of our great nation. My heart breaks that this is all coming undone under Trump and the Republicans.

As a white baby boomer, I really don’t like being characterized that way. We aren’t all Trump supporters. All of my friends are vehemently opposed to MAGA. It could be that I have always had good instincts in my choice of friends.

For decades we have focused too much on math and science in schools to the neglect of civics and civic responsibility. I say that as a retired math educator. Too little balance.

Added CBS and Paramount to my list of businesses, corporations and media that I will not support with my money or time. They join Amazon, Facebook, instagram, ABC, Goya…. Anyone have more for me to add?

Wake up. Having a cell phone won’t stop a shooter and may keep your child from following directions that could save their life in a crisis.

This is just one example of how much we will all suffer under this administration.

Where is information about April 19th protests? If these protests are going to matter we need to know. I’m worried that April 5th could be a one time event. Can’t be!

This just shows how fragile our democracy was. Based on norms and the rule of law. Once the immoral, unethical, greedy, spineless GOP rolled over for Trump, it failed. Special thanks to all the “low information” racist voters and the ones who just could not bring themselves to vote for a Democrat.

I’m a retired math educator and I strongly suspect that the overemphasis on math and science at the expense of civics education for decades may have contributed to many citizens’ ignorance of how the United States government was intended to function.
