Asterixis, ie, flapping tremor, is a manifestation of uremic neuropathy, while not an indication of emergent need for dialysis per se, if it coexists with encephalopathy, it strongly suggests that uremic encephalopathy could also be present, urging the need for dialysis. Video posted with permission
