Every year, I say the same thing to parents - Can you believe they only started school just weeks ago? Remember your tour around school, they're first day? Now they are all standing on stage & confidentially singing and performing!

We have purchased this and our KS1 team are very excited! It also helps us with our 'wings to fly' providing a helpful scaffold for how we can develop great sequences of learning with beautiful and ambitious text! I'll be sure to capture some pupil voice and writing for you 🥰

Well, this is a gem of a book!

Key points that need attention and action, thank you 🙏

I'd add more opportunities for flexible & part-time headship as a way to help manage the isolation & emotional pressure.

Co-headship can hugely benefit the school too, with complimentary skills sets & widening the experience & expertise.

Saw my humans fighting with water, wasn't sure what was going on, made sure they were all safe, took a few blows, but am OK, very tired now. #waterfight #hotdog

Keep shining the spotlight on this! For me, it's been challenging the pat-time barrier. I've been lucky to manage it so far, but remain disheartened by how few leadership roles are advertised with part-time/flex considered. I'm dreaming of the day the same doors are open to us as male colleagues!

Great day with the kids revisiting the Justice Museum & Nottingham Castle. We recently got back from the East Coast of the US where we visited some great museums too. I've been reflecting a lot on what makes a good museum experience for kids, maybe I've found my next career step!

Just back from the supermarket & have filled the fridge with fruit & vegetables, trying hard to offset the last 2 weeks of eating on the East Coast of the US... 😬

The advantages of the weirdly early summer holidays in Leicestershire - you can drive across the border to Notts and pretty much get a trampoline park to yourself. I love joining in with my crew, it's just such a giggle! I really haven't grown up yet... 😂

Funny thing about having been in education my whole life, as a pupil/student then teacher, is that the 'new year' thing is only ever been relevant in relation to the academic year. As we've just broken up in Leicestershire, it's the end of the year. Here's to some R&R before the New Year, cheers! 🥂

Last week I had the pleasure of spending some time with our new EYFS cohort, it blows my mind how little they all are! Then, as I watch our current EYFS have their transition day in Year 1 I'm reminded how much they grow & develop in just a year! Our EYFS team are phenomenal 🥰

I've just signed Ruby and myself up for the dog mentoring programme, can't wait for her to become a part of our school family! She's popped in for one visit so far and spent some time with one of our lovelies with complex needs, it was pure magic. She's gonna have a huge impact 🥰

Great listen, explores the challenges of the current climate well and Bill shares some really valuable reflections on micro barriers that left me pondering... He also speaks up about the importance of relationships with parents, which was refreshing to hear.

So grateful one of my fab team leaders took a moment to say thank you today. My favourite part was her letting me know she felt she'd been able to grow & develop in a way she'd never imagined because I'd modelled how flex/part-time wasn't a barrier to progression & inspired her to believe she could!

Today was one of those days where you realise that being a primary co-head is a truly magical job! This is some of my fab team at our summer fair & colour run. We soaked & threw paint at the kids, then they got their revenge! Our amazing PTA helped us create special memories & raise lots of money! 🥰

Today, I was playing pool with my son and I missed a shot, it was close. He said to me, "Ahh that was a great miss." I really love 8 year olds 🥰

Oooo the buzz of professional learning, debate, discussion & collaborative planning today during our INSET 🥰 love it!

I completely agree, they are incredibly important & servd a purpose, but I feel frustrated by the headlines and claims that don't address the lack of long term initiatives, investment & real commitment 😔

FSMs don't tackle poverty or lift children out of poverty. It's incredibly important, of course, but it's reactive. Tackling poverty & genuinely lifting people out of it, that's a much bigger piece of work...
