Spokes/CUK Election Hustings #Holyrood2026

Spokes and Cycling UK are holding a joint election hustings, on Monday 16 March, for the 2026 Scottish Parliament election, to hear from Holyrood candidates on cycling and related policies.

Rather than the usual hustings approach, which can be rather boring, our meeting will comprise several sections, with speakers undertaking Initiation, Interrogation, Combination, Clarification and Education, as in the agenda below.

Greens prevented from discussing hunger striking Palestine protestors due to draconian proscription laws - Edinburgh Green Party If we needed any further proof that Labour’s obsession with cracking down on protest has gone too far, it is this - Cllr Claire Miller

Yesterday Green councillors called for the city to support the Filton 24 hunger strikers who have been held without trial for months.
πŸ‰ πŸ‡΅πŸ‡Έ πŸ«’ πŸ’š
Others blocked this as too risky to even talk about, in an eye opening moment for the state of human rights under Labour.

Epstein wasn’t a β€œbad apple”
He didn’t β€œslip through the cracks”
He was the logical outcome of systems designed to protect rich, powerful men & discipline the rest.
Prisons didn’t stop him. Policing didn’t stop him. The state didn’t stop him.
He was protected & enabled by institutions of power.

More evidence of a convergence between our constituency and list vote shares.

More and more people are done lending their vote to the SNP, and want to vote Green on both ballots.

A strong Green voice is the best way to enable progressive policy, whilst advancing independence.

I’m sorry to see Angus Robertson continuing to share deliberately misleading false claims πŸ€₯

Greens are polling to win the Central constituency πŸ’š with tories absolutely nowhere to be found

Maybe he’s seen the polling and is scared to tell the truth?

Edinburgh independent councillor Ross McKenzie joins Greens Edinburgh independent councillor Ross McKenzie has joined the Greens nearly three years after he quit the Labour party.

Locally and nationally, @scottishgreens.org are representing working-class interests and providing a real left-wing alternative - the very things I had hoped to do as a Labour councillor.

I will continue to spend every day trying my very best to serve the people of Sighthill/Gorgie.

Edinburgh Evening News in which they say… β€˜police were allowed to run them off the road. Better still if other road users were allowed to do it without fear of prosecution’

The Edinburgh Evening News printed these lines on a story about antisocial bike use.

β€˜police were allowed to run them off the road. Better still if other road users were allowed to do it’

I don’t think this is acceptable. The normalising, publishing, promoting of illegal acts towards a group.

Israel is piling crime on top of crime on top of crime.

No wonder it is determined to bring down the entire edifice of international humanitarian law - it's the only hope of protecting itself from consequences.

Btw: the allegations are significantly worse than bedbugs.

'It's Time to Bring Back Scotland's Wolves' As wolf populations grow in Europe, Adam Ramsay argues that reintroducing the apex predator could help control deer populations and rescue Scotland's ecology.

Over-grazing means Scotland’s soil is rapidly eroding, damaging farming, destroying biodiversity, and contributing to the climate crisis. We need - urgently - to bring back wolves. By me: www.bylinesupplement.com/p/its-time-t...
