Thank you to @christopherstreet.bsky.social for standing up to an administration that seeks to erase the memory of transgender people and history, as well as block access to gender-affirming and life-saving healthcare.

To say Stonewall is an important landmark in “LGB” history without the “T” erases both the identities of many of those involved in the uprisings and the purpose of their actions. Trans justice is inseparable from the events at Stonewall.

The executive branch has ordered all government websites to remove all mentions of transgender people, identity, and even health information. This includes sites with historical information.

Places like Stonewall were the only safe spaces for LGBTQ+ people, and many of the patrons who led the movement were transgender women of color, like Marsha P. Johnson, Sylvia Rivera, and Miss Major Griffin-Gracy.
