General Richard Cavazos served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1984. He earned the Medal of Honor for his heroic actions on June 14th-15th, 1953 near Sagimak, Korea. A U.S. Army fort was renamed for Cavazos in 2023 but that honor was taken away in 2025. More details: www.army.mil/medalofhonor....

Macario Garcia was an enlisted soldier in the U.S. Army and served during the Second World War. He earned the Medal of Honor for his heroic actions on November 27th, 1944 near Grosshau, Germany. Garcia was born in 1920 in Mexico and died in Texas in 1972. More details: www.army.mil/article/2107....

Lieutenant General Harold "Hal" Moore, Jr. served in the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1977. He is best known for his leadership during the Battle of Ia Drang in 1965. Jose Calugas, Sr. was a Philippine Scout in the U.S. Army and served from 1930 to 1957. He earned the Medal of Honor for his heroic actions on January 16th, 1942 near Culis, Philippine Islands. Calugas was born in 1907 in the Philippines and died in WA state in 1998. www.army.mil/article/2663...

Isaac Payne was an Indian Scout in the U.S. Army and served from 1871 to 1901. He earned the Medal of Honor for his heroic actions on April 25th, 1875 near the Pecos River, Texas. Payne was born in 1854 in Mexico and died in Mexico in 1904. More biographical details: www.nps.gov/people/isaac....
