This wasn't even the question of whether the map was a gerrymander or not, this was: the Florida Constitution says the legislature cannot diminish Black voters' ability to elect candidates of their choice, DeSantis did it anyway, court said OK.

There was recently a Florida Supreme Court Decision in which the court allowed the current 20-8 gerrymander to stand even though it eliminated a Black-influenced district in direct contravention of the incontrovertible meaning of the Florida Constitution. The court is beyond hackish.
