Hello, I have been suspended for a post accusing me of threatening violence. If you look at the thread the post is part of, 1 am describing the evangelical belief system about the rapture, which includes the mass murder of Jews. I, a Jew, was not making threats against Jews. I, a Jew, was educating about the dangers that the evangelical community poses to Jews in order to *protect us* This is obviously and clearly not a threat or an excuse for suspension. Please reinstate my account.

Here is how I appealed the suspension. It took them about an hour to respond. All in all I was down for about 4 hours.

I got half an hour in 🏊‍♂️, with a family of 3 in the opposite end of the pool. I got out, and then more people came in (group of 5?), and the family got out, too.

That's the most activity I've observed when I'm at the pool.

I'm trying to gear myself up to go. Need to finish gathering stuff to go out with me, shower quickly, and then go out.

Anyway, as much as I think Jay fucked up big, I don't think there's any single source of moderation that is gonna make me want to hang out there constantly, anymore.

I'm very capable of taking myself off of the Bluesky app, and hosting my own stuff, which I may choose to sometimes share on ATProto.

Being raised JW, I did not understand very many slurs, at that point. I hadn't yet been exposed to the massive variety of ways humans try to devalue other people with words, yet.

Anyway, I found patient friends there, who explained why, and I eventually understood.

What was your first experience of having communication with strangers moderated on the Internet?

I barely used BBSs, so for me it was chatrooms. The first one that really stuck in my head was an MSN bisexual chatroom, where the rules told me that "fruit loops" was inappropriate.

I do think at one point, I probably said I could write some piece of related software to connect some stuff, but I wasn't suggesting I am anywhere close to writing a social media app. I just wanna eliminate them. We don't need social media overlords. Like, at all. We can do this without them.
