For me, the show suffered from too many lengthy hiatuses. It also started to feel formulaic.

I can’t recall what city I was in, but I’ve seen a dozen or so yahoos racing around doing wheelies on ATVs and/or dirt bikes. Might have been DC.

It was a bit of an adjustment to go from Paul Smith’s smooth cinematic style to Simonson’s wildfire, but it grew on me.

That might be the most ‘80’s I’ve ever seen packed into a two minute video.

I mean, both of them made my blood boil so I didn’t listen much. Maybe he wasn’t as bad, but he was still awful enough, and in the same ways, that I couldn’t listen.

I’m an admirer of Sykes, but his talk radio career pre-2016 was nothing to be admired. He was as belligerent and deceptively polemical as Limbaugh. I’m glad he woke up to the harm he was doing, but it was pure Fox News-style garbage.

I would never watch those films, but there’s almost certainly an audience who will reliably pay for them.

I think each author has some work that retains value today, but I’d be selective in which piece to suggest to which reader. I’d offer up Nightfall to a reader interested in a paradigmatic sci-fi short of the era, a progenitor of sci-fi as social allegory. Heinlein I’d only suggest to certain readers

Something about that photo made me expect the computer in the background to be a C64 with a 5.25” floppy drive.

This Sox fan read this anxiously to see how Devers’ performance would be skewered, and I was pleasantly surprised that he wasn’t at fault for the team’s dreadful performance in this game. I’m rooting for him to earn the loyalty of Giants’ fans.
