When I saw it for the first time, c. 2006 at the Bartell Theater in Madison, WI, I was familiar with the literary movement(s), but not the work itself. I was captivated.

In s2e2 of #TheDiplomat, Stuart wakes up after the bombing and his memory is inconsistent with the events in a way that shields him from the tragedy of Ronnie’s death. I’m impressed by the verisimilitude of the #writing in that scene. It feels deeply #human to shape memory in the wake of tragedy.

There’s a joke in s01 of #TheDiplomat where #KerriRussel has her mouth agape and is told to close it. If you watch carefull, that’s actually one of her acting techniques. Mouth open, she’s thinking; when she reaches a conclusion she closes her mouth and lets out a breath through her nose.

The dumbest convention in #baseball is to reset the rate stats in the #boxscore for the #mlb #postseason. I’m looking at the the #Brewers, a team I’ve not seen this year, and the box score tells me absolutely nothing about how good any of these players are.

I disagree with her point, but the criticism of her language is misplaced. In that sentence, “No songs in English” is a noun phrase that serves as the subject. It’s an ordinary form of speech which is hard to capture in writing.

What is “chirping from Red Sox fans?” That’s not a phrase that suggests any lines were crossed.
