Unfortunately, I find it easier to chart a concrete path towards a complete breakdown of the constitutional order than to envision a democratic turnaround: Escalate the conflict in the streets to declare “emergencies”; attack the elections; criminalize all opposition as “domestic terrorism.”

A fascistic movement controls the government; they are building an authoritarian state; but they have not been able yet to extend authoritarian rule across society. A democracy no more, but not a consolidated autocratic regime yet:
