Like, I also looked into this story and actually want it to be true, but it’s our job to not report on “likely” things as confirmed, especially when the headline is misleading speculation as absolute truth.

Okay this story in particular has been seeing a string of terrible headlines where almost every outlet has passed off an unconfirmed Reddit rumor as confirmation — but only in the hed. Once opened, they all state it’s speculation.

You know the hed is supposed to be supported by the article, right?

I agree, it could use more features. I more so just find it hilarious taking snaps of the rag doll viscera. Frankly the action is often to fast to even accurately time a shot.

The photo mode is wild in this one.

Right when the game approaches its natural apex, it just… pivots. I feel bad for anyone who gets fooled by the marketing into thinking it’s actually a joint Yakumo/Ryu story.

As kid, I didn’t realize Pokémon centers could heal you. I beat all of Pokémon Blue with just potions and fainting.

I might’ve been really stupid but I was pretty good at Pokémon.

Totally agree, that makes sense. But to me, that feels counterproductive to Xbox's whole casual accessibility messaging at the moment.

To me, paying a premium like $1,000 would be about convenience. That's what I'd value most. If I load up *the* Xbox game on an Xbox-branded device, I'd be hoping not to have to fuck with the settings to make it work.

Totally get that it's a PC and that's PC shit, but what's the appeal?

I've found moments of joy but the device is indicative of everything that made me quit caring about PC gaming two decades ago, all mashed into the least intuitive package possible.

I haven't done a full review of the Asus ROG Xbox Ally X just yet, but as someone who's never owned a handheld PC, the whole thing is confusing and frustrating.
