Little bit of research indicates they're the contents of the Forces of Fantasy box supplement for WHFB1e, yes. Not seeing a lot of details, but it appears to be a rules expansion with some additional fantasy races & points. Came out in 1984! Well before my gaming years!

Oh, and the Warhammer 40K rulebook on the left side of the 40K box is the 3e rulebook, so you're set to use most of those Codices. I'm interested in the shorter staple-bound books at the right side of the Fantasy box - copies of Citadel Journal, maybe?

Warmaster appears to be an original rulebook, released in 2000. I presume the staple-bound volumes between it and Warhammer Armies are copies of the Fanatic Games Warmaster Magazine, where the game got most of its ongoing support.

The WHFB side starts a bit older. Warhammer Armies was WHFB3e, firmly in the original Oldhammer Movement era. The red-spined Rulebook and Battlebook are WHFB5e, and the other Rulebook and the Battle Bestiary are WHFB4e. I'm not sure when The Warhammer Catalog dates from, I'm not familiar with it.

How to Paint Citadel Miniatures is from the WHFB7e/W40K4e era, I think. Somewhere in the 00's. The Necromunda book is the collected volume with both Necromunda '95 and Outlanders, put out somewhere around the turn of the century.

Codex: Ultramarines is second edition, the remainder of the Codices with legible spines are third edition. It looks like you may have a few of the staple-bound smaller mini-codices from third edition, as well. The Eavy Metal Painting Guide was WHFB4e/W40K2e era, I believe.

The lighting is NOT doing his human costume any favors.

The downside: If they're playing a genocide run, it doesn't matter what you're doing when Megalovania starts, you'll be doing it at 125% regardless of your wishes.

I 100% agree. It's certainly how I feel.

I feel like competitive play makes instances of imbalance in armies/scenarios feel harsher, the 'I never had a chance, this felt unfair' effect. But if its just you, or you and a friend, against the rules, there's no 'you can't just change the rules mid-game!' stigma to re-balancing on the fly.

Ever since my old 'gang of friends' wargaming group broke up and we all moved away, I've come to appreciate that what I want from a wargame is not competition, but rather engagement. Since that epiphany, I've gravitated to solo and co-op wargames to the point where I avoid PVP wargames.

Given the timing, they were probably checking to see how the market penetration of domestic refrigerator/freezer units was effecting home drinking habits, now that a lot (but not all) of households could just make their own ice from water any time of the year.

We need a legal thinktank planning out, RIGHT NOW, the Project 2029 chapter on how to institute Nuremberg style trials and hearings here, domestically. Or, failing that, the legislative actions required to repeal the Hague Invasion act and join the ICC so they can do it for us.
