The manufacturing restoring convo needs more facts. Any new manufacturing jobs will likely be high-skilled which require lots of training (ca. 10 years). We need to commit to a manufacturing future, e.g. with tax credits for green tech. Erratic tariffs ain't it.

In short, I find it important to prioritize change at the individual or institutional level, to promote it, to prioritize related policies, and to be optimistic about it. ☺️

We may not have many things, and similarly, we may not have control over many things either, but we try to survive/live. While I think it’s meaningful to point out the bigger picture you mentioned, I believe that merely pointing it out often doesn’t help much for immediate positive change.

I might be wrong, but I’m not sure that’s the only reason. Losing connection with the truth or ignoring it, and chasing popularity through misinformation or online bullying (as a method), also seem to be tendencies I’ve observed in left-leaning circles (or perhaps I should say 'so-called').

I might be in a somewhat naive optimism about the possibility of a different kind of social media—one where trolls, misinformation, and online bullying find no space, where people refuse to feed it, follow it, instead blocking and standing against it. But the “principle of hope” demands this.
