While I think it’s meaningful to point out the bigger picture you mentioned, I believe that merely pointing it out often doesn’t help much for immediate positive change.

Losing connection with the truth or ignoring it, and chasing popularity through misinformation or online bullying (as a method), also seem to be tendencies I’ve observed in left-leaning circles (or perhaps I should say 'so-called').

But the “principle of hope” demands this.
