Rehabilitating a Gujarati Red Sea and Gulf of Aden chart Join John P Cooper and Kumail Rajani as they explore a 19th-century Gujarati chart of the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden from the Society’s Collections.

Learned so much from Kumail Rajani & John P Cooper about the late-18th-century Gujarati sea chart in the @rgsibg.bsky.social collections. You can listen to this and other Be Inspired lectures via our talks on demand service. #skystorians #histcart #maps πŸ—ƒοΈ

Sorry to have to share this but this evidence that the leader of the free world has gone insane is apparently not newsworthy to the BBC, the Times etc

If the ribbons cover the gaps, I doubt anyone will notice. Pic for rough guide. Shattered bells optional!

If this is for Pebworth, large bells on the top, smaller on the two rows bellow (until they start getting replaced and it goes a bit jazz). Out pads are usually solid leather pad, with the ribbons stitched in. Will try to pop a picture to you later for ribbon order. Ribbons from the squire.

We all know why Nigel Farage is accusing Labour of inciting violence against him while cutting his security. Because if he didn’t, people might remember to ask him who paid for his house in Clacton and why he hangs around with people who take bribes from Russians.

Just to be clear:
- Paracetamol does not cause autism.
- Sadiq Khan is not introducing Sharia law in the UK
- We do not have a massive free speech problem here.
- Britain is not on the verge of civil war.
These are not controversial subjects or contested, they're just not true.

Artists are losing work, wages, and hope as bosses and clients embrace AI Visual artists, illustrators and graphic designers share their stories about how AI is being used to lower wages, degrade work and even replace it altogether, in this installment of AI Killed My Job.

Freelance illustration gigs drying up. Ad agencies using Midjourney instead of hiring human artists. Costume design turned over to AI wholesale. Good work vanishing.

These are the stories of working visual artists, who describe losing jobs, wages, and hope as their clients and bosses embrace AI.

English Roundabouts
Β
They’re making the roundabouts great again
by painting the flag of St George
to keep our circular road systems safe
from the dark, satanic hordes.

What do they want? Patriotic junctions!
When do they want them? Before it’s too late.
Good old-fashioned English roundabouts,
as decreed by Alfred the Great.

Behold the sacred intersection,
this blessed plot, this septic isle.
English roundabouts for English people,
draped in red and white and bile.

St George is cross, as well he may be –
whipped-up hate, he’s seen before.
Give way to the right, the road signs rage,
and the far right most of all.

Brian Bilston
