At this point if you want me excited about consumer technology it requires two things:

1. A single purchase price. Fuck subscriptions

2. Rip the internet out of it. It literally cannot access the internet

I keep hearing that the Epstein files are so big if we held everyone accountable everything would collapse. And no it wouldn’t. These rich guys don’t do any actual work. They aren’t actually important or useful they are just rich.

Does it ever strike you how much of the worst ideas in the world just become inaccessible if you like other people? If you like yourself and believe other people are real and have their own thoughts and stuff?

For sure. And I’m not saying there’s no way back from the precipice of hate. Rather that one can’t be talked out of it. If there is a way back it’s due to consequence, not coddling. That’s my theory anyway

I think a lot of folks refuse to accept, and understandably so, that some people genuinely are just full of anger, hate, and nothing else. The point of their hatred is not the targets, though they certainly matter, the point is to bask in their vapidity and inflict pain.

You can’t out-logic hatred

I read the books, watched the first two seasons, and then said I’ll wait for the books to be finished before I watch any more to see how it compares over all

But it means I missed out on the heartbreak

Especially coming off the back of the long running Destiny 2. Though I foresee more of a “wind down” as it were, just keeping enough staff on hand to keep Destiny running until whales stop spending and then shuttering the studio

I’m not educated on the topic but I tend to view law simply as an agreed upon social contract. That is, a restraint on behaviors that impact the liberty and freedom of others when needed.

I don’t really think of anarchism as lawlessness. More communal respect and mutual understanding

There's a peculiarity to someone looking at an empty page and saying, 'I can't write. I can't draw.' It's not that the desire to create isn't there, it's that the person has been taught not to create- that their writing and drawing is 'bad,' that only the 'great' can create.

Pretty much exactly this. Ask why enough times and you reach the inevitable conclusion that so much of our supposedly written in stone rules are just illusions - mass dreams perpetuated by complicity. And if that’s the case, why not dream another dream?

Asking why, can sometimes bring other people to engage with systems and concepts critically. Being annoying about it, until they get it, is worthwhile XD

One of the big lessons that I took from law school, was this. It helped with engaging with the topics and is what helped bring me to anarchism

I get why people don’t like anarchists. We’re kinda like the curious kids at the family table always asking why.

“We can’t do that”

Why?

“Because”

Why?

“Because I said so”

That’s not a good reason. Why?

Etc etc.

But that’s a good and needed role to fill. Systems need to be questioned

“Hey what if tyranny but you know, in my favorite colors?”

it's often nothing more than an aesthetic, too, a way of setting yourself apart from others by engaging "seriously" with e.g. fascist ideologies. it's supposedly very high-minded but it's actually incredibly shallow. but at other times it's a way *consciously* of mainstreaming those ideologies.

There’s a certain type of discourse poison that has captured people’s minds wherein the only valid “argument” is one that strives to see the “logic” from all sides of said argument.

And hell nah, we need to re-learn that some things are simply not up for debate. We need not suffer fools.

Why would the end goal of performing your craft be to simply give it away to watch a machine perform it in a different medium?

I mean I’m all for adaptations by other artists but the question here is inherently flawed. They clearly don’t understand the joy of the written word.

Thinking about when Twitter first came around and everyone thought limiting ourselves to 140 characters was stupid and, on the whole, almost certainly bad for the collective mental health of society.

Someone has sure already made this observation but the fact they can convert all those empty warehouses into prison camps means they could have converted them into housing, community centers, job training centers or, hell, libraries or schools all along. It’s always a matter of will not resources.

I firmly believe Abrams is a good director and an atrocious writer. If he could somehow get paired up with a decent script and not have any say on the story he could probably make good, fun stuff.

Problem is he has a hand in writing almost everything he directs

At this point I’ve lived through too many congressional hearings to believe anything of consequence will ever be forthcoming from them. Wake me up when ICE is abolished and/or everyone is impeached. Til then I don’t buy it.
