We have all had experiences with spiral bound pages ripping out of notebooks, so wire bound for a rpg feels... Dangerous? I don't want pages accidently ripped out of rulebooks, for sure.

How durable is this binding? Would you use a thicker paper? Perhaps make ripping pages out a part of the game?

Try aiming to hit that on your 2nd draft and just gettting the story out on the 1st go. Focus on making bones, not a polished story. Once you have something, anything down, it is such much easier to go back and make it better.

Artists don't start with a finished piece, they start with a sketch.

With tariffs on paper (Canada) and ink (Germany and China) and glue (China) I now have to seriously reconsider if I can keep printing in the US!

I may have to move my biz overseas now. Tariffs DONT make US jobs! They hurt us all!

I print hardback RPGs in the US and have for 11 years now. I don't own my own print shop, I use a commercial printing agent for Jostens.

It is more expensive, until you consider shipping from China. And I was fine paying the slight difference for never stressing about losing product on a boat...

Ahh. Unjustified is a more modern trend (at least as RPGs go), so that might be working against you.

Those gears WILL work if you don't wrap the text so tightly to them!

Tha one page where a single line just way back into the white space between two gears? That makes the page feel cluttered, but you don't need to do it.

Let the white space work FOR you. Give room to make things easier to read.

Agreed with Phil. Start your line spacing at 2 points higher than your font size. That usually helps.

I also justify all my text blocks, but that takes fine tuning to avoid errors.

In this, the ragged edge looks off because the top few are too short and the bottom few reach the end of the block.

Without seeing a higher rez version, I'd say this is not AI. The setup makes sense. The materials make sense. The only thing that I can't see is if the numbers are clear and make sense.

What about it makes you think it is AI?

Trust your gut and replace if it feels off. Better to be 100% sure.

Wow. I may have had a stroke there trying to type Kickstarter. New phone, so it keeps forcing auto-correct, but in no realm is THAT a word.

Small indie book publisher here. I print all my books in the US and have for over a decade now. I support US industry and jobs and am proud of that!

But the paper pulp comes from Canada, glue comes from Germany, ink comes from all over the world!

The tariffs are going to crush me and my customers!
