That run of episodes from the end of S1.8 to S2.3, culminating with Merstede, has got to be my all time favourite TV. And we continued to get so much wonderfulness - Anne & Mary, the couch scene, Calypso's birthday, the lovely letter, the beach reunion of all time... Far too many to say! ❤️

He absolutely can. He's an incredible actor and we have the evidence on our screens. He deserves to be seen and appreciated far more widely than he is.

I once asked if he'd been able to make use of his comedy talent in ST:SNW (before release). He laughed and said they weren't exactly going to hire him for anything else. But why not? It made me sad that he believed that. I don't know if it was about Rhys' confidence or an indictment of the studios.

I really do, because that friendship and love is genuine and it shone through on the screen. I firmly believe that Rhys and Taika together played a huge part in making the show what it is and it wouldn't have been as impactful with anyone else in either role.

But I did find a group online right after S2 aired (so well before cancellation) who I was able to discuss the show with ad infinitum. And then I found Tumblr and AO3, and on from there. So I did at least have people to cry with when cancellation happened.

I get that. I hadn't really found the fandom yet after S1. And the only things I knew before S2 were that Izzy died, and I'd seen a pic of Ed & Stede on the beach (and clearly back together). I hadn't even discovered AO3 yet, which would really have helped!!

I spent those 4 months scouring the web for S1 content, anything Rhys/Taika related and watched S1 over and over. It was so hard to avoid spoilers but I was mostly successful. It was so frustrating realising that all this chat was happening and I couldn't even look, let alone join in!

After all this time, why does my phone still want to autocorrect Stede to Steve??? I _never_ type Steve (well apart from just then). It's Stede, Stede, Stede!! 🤣

Mostly yes. I looked carefully at dates and didn't open anything written post S2 or that mentioned S2, or looked like it might. The only spoiler I missed was about Izzy dying at the end and I saw a beach photo from merman (watching Zheng, not that I knew that). But neither of those bothered me.

I still have such a physical reaction every single time I watch this. And I've watched it so often. I don't think it'll ever go away.
