problem is that people want to use cars as their primary means of transportation, even over ambulating. they want them directly in front of their houses at all times even though they sit unused like 98% of the time. it's uncivilized. keeping them elsewhere and accessing them when needed is fine.

The sidewalk on the 29th Street side of R. House, which has been blocked off by a fence for the last 6 months or so, and has an orange plastic barrier wall in the parking lane next to it preventing cars from using it and could easily be converted into a pedestrian walkway with minimal effort.

I complained to Odette about this and got a response from DOT that they have a permit and they also have an "approved detour" which is just "cross the street twice." They also informed that the orange barrier is not a walkway and is just there to "protect the fence." Frankly, I'm insulted.
