I found a higher quality scan of this map from 1977 and I am absolutely fascinated by what details the artist focused on.

It makes sense that they'd include the Pontiac Silverdome at the north but being directly above Palmer Woods, which is next to the Detroit Zoo, is making me laugh.

We’re always up here the first weekend in August… and this is the first time I remember seeing anything. We’re in Rose City/Mio area… it looked like they were headed to Alpena. It was pretty cool.

Very true. I just know I always preferred that later in the day games on Saturday than going to those Sunday games here in Detroit. It always felt like the sun was less brutal later in the day.

Do we think summer heat has anything to do with it? Are crowds more apt to go to a 4:40PM game than a 1:05PM game on a hot summer day?

I’m about a 10 minute drive from the nearest SMART Bus route… but once I get on… it’ll take me about 1.5 hours to get to work… & almost 2 hours to get home.

Now, my commute by car is about an hour, so I could be doing something during the bus ride, but 3.5 hours on the bus a day seems exhausting.

Looks like Michigan made the cut because of Ann Arbor, not because of Detroit.
